A public works truck on a hulk rolls downhill in a cemetery, damaging headstones

City Manager Philip Lemnios said the vehicle “slipped out of park” causing it to roll.

Officials in Hull are repairing six damaged headstones after a public works truck “slid out of park” and rolled down a hill in the city’s cemetery.

City Manager Philip Lemnios said earlier this week that the driver had parked the vehicle before getting out to look at something when it started rolling, according to Patriotic book.

“It affected six headstones and they will be re-erected over the next few days. We are lucky that no one was injured – he said.

Lemnios said everything affected will be repaired, and local workers will spend time inspecting the damage to the stones and making the necessary repairs.
