After some R&R, Nikita Krylov wants a Blachowicz Rematch.
LAS VEGAS, NV — UFC light heavyweight Nikita Krelov thinks victory over Ryan Saturday night spanners are a great birthday present.
Krylov (30-9), who sent Spann with a triangle in the opening round of their main card tournament, turned 31 this week. “It was a nice birthday gift for me,” Krylov said of the victory that came in a bout. The pair were originally supposed to face off at UFC Vegas 70, but Krylov fell ill in the eleventh hour before the card’s main event.
“I think it’s a nice triangle,” Krylov added Saturday, speaking to media outlets including Cageside Press backstage at The Theater at Virgin Hotels in Las Vegas. “Thanks for that, Paul Craig. ”
Of course, Craig is the master of sending triangles and caught Krylov last year. But since then, “The Miner” has won three bouts in a row.
His illness in February changed things, Krylov admitted, “because I was sick two weeks ago when we started. [the] Fighting, I felt my power drop.” However, Krylov added that in his first hug with Spann, he felt he was more powerful than his opponent.
While Spann tried to compromise, Krylov never felt he was close to finishing. The closest attempt was with a guillotine, but “it wasn’t really dangerous because he didn’t go around my neck,” Krylov said. [I was in] dangerous.”
After 4 fights in 12 months, Krylov takes time to rest. Flew to Hawaii to support his teammates who will debut at Bellator MMA next month and have time for family too. After that he wanted a contestant. and would like to rematch with the Blachowicz, if possible.
The couple first met in 2018, with Krylov losing by submission.
“[A] Better fight Blachowicz [than a] fight Magomed Ankalaev,” Krylov suggested. we are friends So for me, fighting Blachowicz would be better, especially because of their final fight. It’s quite even. so for me I want to fight Jan [rather than] Ankalaev, if I could.
After Saturday’s win, Krylov seemed to have something to say towards the end of his interview with Daniel Cormier, but the former double champion missed out.
“I just want to say hello to everyone who loves me. Everyone I love,” Krylov told Cageside Press, thanking his family, staff and city. “Thank you to everyone who supported me.”
