Almost nobody buys the Samsung Galaxy S22. What’s next?

The Samsung Galaxy S22 fell short of Samsung’s sales expectations. Does the manufacturer still have something to look for in the flagship smartphone segment? After all, everyone knows that users love the average company the most.

The end of 2022 is fast approaching – this is the time for the roundups, including sales figures from the smartphone manufacturers. While this year hasn’t gone badly for Samsung, there’s no doubt that the manufacturer has no reason to be excited about its flagships.

I don’t think anyone will be surprised when I say sell Galaxy S22 series Samsung fails again. This is another year in which Samsung’s flagships lose heavily. Especially if we compare the sales results with Apple flagships, for example.

Samsung Galaxy S22 sells below expectations

Samsung expected the Galaxy S22 lineup to strengthen the brand’s position in the global market as a leading smartphone maker this year.

However, it turns out that in 2022 Samsung increased its ASP (i.e. average selling price) of devices by only 2% – This is due to low interest in flagships and good sales of mid-range and budget phones. Apple, on the other hand, posted a 7% gain with its iPhone 14 series.

This year’s best-selling Samsung model is Galaxy A12, so a smartphone definitely from the shelf of these cheaper offers. Because of this, Samsung may soon lose its premium brand image entirely, according to analysts. Worse still, the situation is not expected to improve in the coming months.

Samsung’s goal was to sell models from the Galaxy S22 family in Germany 30 million copies – today the company has no illusions that such a plan is unlikely to be implemented.

Samsung’s revenue plummeted in 2022, according to Korean media 4%. Only the Galaxy Z Flip 4 model saves Samsung’s situation in the premium equipment market. This fairly cheap folding box is very popular with customers.

Will Samsung completely ditch standard flagships in favor of foldable devices? We will probably have to wait at least until 2024 for the answer to this difficult question.
