ASRock abandons AMD exclusivity. Here is the company’s idea for the Intel Arc A380 card

Intel seems to have managed to do what NVIDIA failed or refused to do. It was in favor of the “blue” that ASRock gave up the AMD exclusivity it had been loyal to for many years, as evidenced by Bilibili’s entry with the non-reference Intel Arc A380 graphics card from ASRock.

However, this is not the first collaboration with Intel for ASRock. This company has been producing motherboards using Intel Core chipsets for a long time, so they probably decided to expand their offering significantly recently. This is indicated not only by the title of the graphics card, but also by the latest news about ASRock’s plan to conquer the gamer monitor market.

As you can see, this also applies to graphics cards, as ASRock officially became the second manufacturer of non-reference Intel Arc A380 models (right after GUNNIR), but we do not declare a particular success for this card. This is an example of a low-end model (equivalent to RX 6400 / RX 6500 and GTX 1630, by the way), and ASRock is treating it as something “much” more efficient.

This is evident from the 8-pin power connector, dual-slot design and only one fan, which is a rather odd choice here considering the competition has gone for two. In both models, however, we will not find too extensive radiators, which are high, but not particularly rich in individual fins. This is a bit strange because the thoughtless design approach is closely related to recent reports that say. the first non-reference model Arc A380 is folding “like a knee”.

As a reminder, the Arc A380 is a combination of a fully unlocked ACM-G11 graphics core with a 2 GHz base clock, which offers 8 Xe cores with 6 GB of GDDR6 memory at a speed of 15.5 Gb / s via a 96-bit bus (the bandwidth reaches almost 190 GB / s). The TDP of such a marriage is 75 watts, which in the reference model is provided only by the PCIe slot, so the presence of 8-pin connectors in non-reference cards is an obvious exaggeration.
