BlackRock increases its stake in Colonial to a maximum of 3.86%

Investment management firm BlackRock has increased its stake in Ibex 35-listed Colonial to 3.86 percent. the highest percentage with which the investment manager became since joining Socimi in December 2015.

According to the records of the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV), BlackRock exceeded a a new participation threshold in the company, notified this same Friday. More precisely, the American company transferred control over 3.54% of the capital of the Spanish company, up to 3.86% of electricityparticipation divided into 16.3 million titles indirectly, 3.9 million in equity loans and another 622,000 titles in financial instruments.

The total is approx 21 million shares with a current market price of 126 million euros, out of Colonial’s total market capitalization of EUR 3,260 million. Since the beginning of October, Colonial has recorded a Growing trend in the value of its titles on the stock exchange, which already reaches 26%, up to 6 euros per share. However, it is still well below the close to 13 euros it was trading at before the outbreak of the pandemic.

Qatar’s sovereign wealth fund It is the main shareholder of the society with 19% of the capital, followed by the Mexican group Finaccess (14.8%); Bermuda-based fund Aguila (7%); Puig (5.4%), Credit Agricole (4.2%) and finally BlackRock (3.9%).
