Caixa and Banco do Brasil did not support Febraban, of which they are both part, to sign the Fiesp manifesto “In Defense of Democracy and Justice”.
The information was revealed by O Globo in an article published this Wednesday (27).
This document, which has yet to be published, is not the “Democracy Letter”, which was organized by USP’s law school and was published on Tuesday (26) and currently has 100,000 signatures.
Febraban, which unites 114 other banking institutions, states that The majority of its members, however, supported the signing of the Fisp manifesto, which will be implemented.
Like the Democracy Letter, this second manifesto is a response to Jair Bolsonaro’s latest attacks on Brazil’s electoral process last week. at the meeting with the ambassadors.
O Globo contacted Caixa, which did not respond, and Banco do Brasil. The second said that he would not comment on the case.
