The Chainsaw Man (2022) Season 1 Finale Explained.

Chainsaw Man anime season 1 ending explanation

Note: Before continuing, watch previous episodes or read Chainsaw Man Season 1 episode summaries.

The last episode of the first season of Chainsaw Man opens with a ghost demon holding Aki by the neck as he remembers Himen. Then he knocks Aki down, hands him a cigarette and for unknown reasons allows him to kill him. At the same time, Kobeni sneaks up behind Akana, the woman controlling the demon snake, and puts a knife to her neck.

Chainsaw Man vs. Katana Man

In the meantime, Power is busy taking care of zombies inside the enemy hideout and Denji reaches the ground where Katana Man is hiding. There she meets him as a human, who after a short conversation transforms into his hybrid form. Then two devilish hybrids jump through the window and engage in an intense battle on the roofs of neighboring buildings. They end up on top of the train, trying to understand each other’s perspectives. But thanks to Denji’s openness to his thoughts, the conversation doesn’t last long.

Soon they enter the train, risking the lives of all passengers in it. Here, Katana overpowers a man with a chainsaw and cuts off both of his hands while protecting the passengers. It seems that everything is over. However, Denji gets up and starts fighting with only a chainsaw on his head. But that too was soon interrupted. This one looks like the end for the Texas Chainsaw Man,but we learn that Denji ended up cutting Katana in half with a chainsaw sticking out of his leg. And with that, Denji seemingly wins the Katana Man vs. Chainsaw Man battle in the season finale.

After the Katana Man fight

Being a hybrid, Katana Man survives and returns to his human form. But Denji easily ties him up while he’s unconscious. Aki soon arrives at the scene and calls for reinforcements. Then, in keeping with the dark humor of the anime, the two take turns hitting the human form of the Katana man in the groin. Although, since he’s alive, the Chainsaw Man Season 1 finale probably won’t be the last we see of Katana Man.

However, the villain that will not appear in the later seasons is Akane. In the final minutes of the episode, we learn that she committed suicide with the help of a snake demon because of her contract with the demon Gun (one of Chainsaw Man’s most powerful demons). Our heroes won’t need any more as they have found enough weapon demon parts during this quest. Combining them causes the pieces to move towards the weapon demon.

Chainsaw Man explained scene after credits

The post-credits scene in Chainsaw Man Season 1 Episode 12 opens with Aki smoking and reminiscing about Himen, while Power and Denji are fast asleep. At that moment, Denji has a strange dream where he is standing next to a door with a stack of pages taped to it. But before he could open the door, Pochita’s voice warns him against it open it. However, Pochita (aka the chainsaw demon) seems to be the one behind the door, as the voice seems to be coming from behind her.

Then, in the final scene of episode 12, we witness a girl walking towards what appears to be a coffee shop. As he approaches the street by the cafe, he says “Denji, the country mouse and the city mouse, who do you think is better?” Manga readers may already know who this mysterious character is, but everyone has to wait at least a few months to find out. One thing we can guarantee is that it will definitely be worth the wait.

Who is the girl shown at the end of The Chainsaw Man?

*MAJOR SPOILERS* This section includes information for the upcoming season of Chainsaw Man while answering who the girl we saw in the post-credits scene of the last episode is. And the answer is pray🇧🇷

The girl we meet in the closing credits of the Chainsaw Man Season 1 finale is none other than Reza (aka the Bomb Devil Hybrid). In the manga, she first plays Denji’s new love interest, but soon discovers her A sinister plan to literally steal the heart of the Texas Chainsaw Man🇧🇷 Apparently, the anime follows the same steps and will open the next season with the knockout of Reza.

Expanding her character, Reze is bomb demon hybrid form, as well as Katana Man and Chainsaw Man. In this form, a human can voluntarily access the powers of an infected demon while retaining consciousness. She is an agent of the Soviet Union whose main goal is to capture Pochita. In her devil form, Reze’s head resembles an atomic bomb, and as you might expect, her powers allow her to create explosions and even blow herself up. Being a hybrid, the last move is not fatal for her, but the same cannot be said for her enemies.

Where will the second season of the Chainsaw Man anime begin?

If the creators don’t venture too far from the source material, the next season of Chainsaw Man will start with the bombshell Bow of the Girl. It is the fifth arc of the first part of the manga and introduces us to the next big character in the CSM universe.

From this point on, the plot will introduce you to Chainsaw Man’s bunch of powerful demons until he finally reveals one of the biggest plot twists in the entire shonen genre. However, we suspect that the last chapters of the first part of the Chainsaw Man manga will not be adapted until the third season of Chainsaw Man.
