Christmas Cemetery is expected to welcome more than 70,000 visitors on All Souls’ Day

About 70,000 people are expected to attend the eight public cemeteries in the four regions of Natal All Souls Day, next Wednesday, November 2. Municipal Directorate of Urban Services (semsur) determined the entire schedule of religious celebrations to be held throughout the day.

To facilitate the population’s access to the cemetery, Semsur set special visiting hours from 7 am to 5 pm starting on Tuesday, the 1st.

Since the beginning of October, Semsur has intensified the maintenance of the cemetery to offer better comfort to visitors. Dealers will be separated into limited spaces so as not to obstruct the movement of people around the equipment.

Three inspection teams will work to ensure the ranking of street vendors and free access for visitors to the eight cemeteries. The exception is the Parque de Nova Descoberta cemetery, which will have celebrations only in the morning. The Igapó Cemetery, in the North area, will have masses and evangelical services at random times.

Cemiterio do Alecrim, the most traditional in the capital, will have mass at 08:00 and 16:00. Bom Pastor I and Bom Pastor II cemeteries, the most visited in the city, will have celebrations at 10 am and 3 pm.
