The New York Giants won a massive game in primetime Sunday Night Football against the Washington Quads 20-12, putting the Giants in a great position to clinch a playoff spot as the regular season wanes.

However, the stunt movie ended up in some major controversy.

A wild end to a wild game:

Facing a fourth down and Washington needing six yards for a touchdown and possibly tying the game with a two-point conversion, captain Taylor Hynecke threw an incomplete pass that was deflected by Giants DB Darnay Holmes, ultimately sealing the Giants’ huge win.

What initially appeared to be a clean defensive stop turned out to be a missed defensive tackle call on Holmes, and fans on social media didn’t hesitate to express their displeasure with the umpires’ decision.

However, no flag was thrown on the play, and New York walked away from Washington with a win that now gives them a 90% chance of making it to the playoffs, according to an ESPN analysis.

Giants head coach Brian Dabul defended Holmes when asked about the controversial fourth game after the game Sunday night.

“It was a good play. A good play.”

Controversy aside, the Giants played an exceptional defensive game, allowing the Chiefs just one touchdown after giving up a season-high six touchdowns against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 14.

Some of the Giants’ biggest contributors were Kayvon Thibodeaux, Dexter Lawrence, and Azeez Ojulari, who totaled 17 tackles and two sacks, with 12 of those tackles coming from Thibodeaux.

The Giants have a tough road ahead as their next showdown is on the road as well, this time against the 11-3 Minnesota Vikings, who came off the biggest comeback in NFL history, going down by 33 points at one point against the Indianapolis Colts on Saturday and winning in Extra time to complete the unreal return.

The Giants will need another strong defensive performance to hold off Kirk Cousins and his deadly offense against the Vikings.
