What does perfect death look like? There is no common answer for Johanna Klug, the dying companion. But he learns from the dying how precious life is. And that death is a part of life. Episode 6 star– The Search for the Good Death podcast.

“I want to accompany the dying”. This is what Johanna Klug says at the age of 20, when death was almost a daily occurrence for her. While her friends throw parties, Johanna Klug spends her youth in a nursing home. He never questioned death.

Now Johanna Klug is the servant of death. He brings death into life and makes the best out of it. What does perfect death look like? To this day, he has no answer. But he says: “We have a problem with accepting death as a part of life.” And. “Dying is so normal, we’ve let it become so abnormal.”

Death is also a part of life for Yvonne Mehne and her daughter Sarah. A 14-year-old boy will die earlier than his peers, much earlier. Sarah has childhood dementia, a rare, life-limiting disease. He doesn’t know he’s going to die. The girl still has big plans and continues to make big plans for the future, says Sara’s mother.
