Representatives of the South Westphalia area demand that construction time be shorter. The next step is to blow up the defective bridge between Lüdenscheid-Nord and Lüdenscheid. According to IHK General Director Ralph Gerushkat, the blockade has so far caused economic damage of 180 million euros.

The Autobahn 45 is considered to be the strongest north-south link between Dortmund and Frankfurt. Since the ill Rahmedetalsperre closed in December 2021, heavy freight traffic has been diverted across other highways. The route in the region will be by Lüdenscheid bypass.
