Drick Barbosa promises an eclectic and sincere performance at Casa Clã
a rapper and singer Derrick Barbosa, owner of such hits as “who has plays“, “Lead” It is “Freedom”, will perform this Friday (10th) at 8pm, live from Casa Clã, an event by CLAUDIA in association with Boa Forma, Bebê.com and Elástica. In an exclusive interview, the artist revealed what we can expect from his performance, his expectations for the day, his career and much more. Check:
CLAUDIA:What can we expect from your performance at Casa CLAN? What atmosphere do you want to pass?
Drick Barbossa“In my songs I put all kinds of emotions that go through me, go through me and become music. So there are songs that are more danceable because I like to dance and other songs that channel this energy of the people dancing next to me with messages of empowerment and love. Then expect reflections on self-esteem, struggle, a more sentimental approach, works that speak to issues of the heart. I like to immerse myself in an intimate atmosphere. I will bring this good mixture to the Clan House.’
CLAUDIA:How does it feel to attend and speak at an event that celebrates mainstream female voices in the market?
Drick Barbossa“It’s so rewarding to be in these spaces with such powerful, inspiring women who are feeding this necessary movement to lift each other up, always respecting everyone’s uniqueness as we face many challenges and pressures to be who we are. My music being present on that day, in this space and with these women is a way to strengthen this movement. I am always very happy to be able to celebrate our existence and resistance together.”
CLAUDIA:– How would you summarize the meaning of your work? What is the concept that best represents you as an artist?
Drick Barbossa“I see my work with art as an act of courage. It takes a lot of courage to get on stage, pick up the speaker and talk about myself.. About how I see the world. About how I experience the world. It opens up my vulnerabilities to show all my strengths without fear. It’s also an act of responsibility because I know that when I’m there, I’m representing a lot of others. So to me that’s courage. It has a purpose that excites me, which is to transform lives, because art transformed mine in a very positive way.”
CLAUDIA:What is the highest quality an artist can apply to their presentations?
Drick Barbossa“Sincerity. Be open to experiencing that moment of connection with the people who are there to listen to you. And unfortunately, we live in a moment of many masks, especially in this generation, don’t we? From hiding. And the art is not to hide. Then we must be whole, in the present moment, to experience this exchange of energy that art provides. That’s my goal, to connect with others through my music.”
