Police are looking for unknown perpetrators who threw an e-scooter onto the tracks between the main station and Dortmund-Dorstfeld.

According to the federal police, the act must have happened on Saturday (July 23) in the early hours of the morning. An S-Bahn line then plowed into the scooter around 5 a.m. near Rheinische Straße and collided with the vehicle, which belonged to a rental company’s fleet. The scooter was destroyed.

As federal police officers determined, someone must have thrown the scooter from a bridge structure onto the railroad line. The federal police have launched investigations into dangerous interference in railway traffic. Initial on-site investigations necessitated the closure of the route for over an hour.

The federal police will evaluate the video recordings from the surveillance cameras. It also seeks information from the public. Who can provide information about the suspicious persons who have been staying near the subway station “Heinrichstraße”?

The Federal Police Inspectorate in Dortmund receives relevant information on the free service number 0800/6 888 000 or at any other federal police station.
