Shortly after the Datafolha poll was released to the Sao Paulo government on Thursday evening (30), former governor Marcio France (PSB) commented on the result in a video posted on Twitter.

“They have been saying for a month now that I am no longer a candidate, I will not be a candidate. Datafolha is out again, we are in the second round. “This Marcio France is difficult, yes,” he said.

He is in the second place in the poll with 16% of the intention to vote. Former mayor Fernando Haddad (PT) leads with 28%.

They are followed by former Minister Tarcio de Freitas (Republicans) with 12%, and current Governor Rodrigo Garcia (PSDB) with 10%. Since the margin of error is more or less two points, they are technically equal.

In private conversations with a group of allies, the former governor signaled that he might withdraw his candidacy for the Palacio dos Bandeirantes for the sake of national unity between the PT and the PSB.

The alternative would be to run for the Senate. This Thursday, host Jose Luis Datena (PSC) announced his candidacy for senator.

On Twitter, Marcio France also commented on the resignation of the TV presenter.
