England defeated a resilient Australia 21-17 in Sydney to win the three-match rugby test series 2-1. It took England captain Owen Farrell eighteen minutes to register the first points on the scoreboard.
The home side fought back and took the lead through a Tom Wright try a few minutes later. England hit back and scored a try of their own through Freddie Steward on the stroke of half-time to enjoy a slender 11-10 lead at the break.
It took a superb solo effort from Marcus Smith to extend England’s lead with his second try of the match. The Wallabies got back into the contest after getting a second try through Folau Fainga’a to make it 15-21 with fourteen minutes to go.
Despite a late onslaught from the hosts, England were able to hang on and register their second successive win to clinch the series.
Good luck to you 🌹
