Everton Ribeiro made his World Cup debut this Friday (2) in Brazil’s 1-0 defeat of Cameroon (2) at the Estadio Luceil in the final round of the Qatar 2022 World Cup group stage.
Even with the temptation, Brazil went top of Group G with six points. Switzerland beat Serbia to move into second place on goal difference. Cameroon was excluded.
“I am very happy for the debut in the cup, it was a good game. We created a lot and did what we were coached to do, but we didn’t make any passes and shoot. In their fortress, the cross and we trained it, they found the goal. But the team is getting better, stronger and we are going strong to the round of 16,” said Everton Ribeiro in an interview with Globo.
“Teaching must remain. The cup is tough, nobody likes to lose. We have to do better in the round of 16 to play well, create chances and take advantage, the margin for error is zero. The World Cup is like that, previous results don’t affect anything. The whole focus is to recover, who needs to recover and play a great game in search of victory,” he added.
Brazil return to action to face South Korea on Monday (5th) at 4pm at the Estadio 974.
