Explosion at Indonesian police station injures three – Media – SABC News

At least three policemen were injured in an explosion at a police station in West Java province on Wednesday, and authorities are investigating the source of the explosion, police officials told local media.

Metro TV quoted residents as saying there was a loud explosion, while Compass TV showed footage of damage at the entrance to a police station in Bandung city and roads closed in the area.

The source of the explosion is not clear.

Indonesia, the world’s most populous Muslim-majority country, has suffered attacks by extremists, with police sometimes targeted.

In 2019, Indonesia created a tough new anti-terrorism law following suicide bombings linked to the Islamic State-inspired Jama’a Ansharut Daulah (JAD).
