Father makes daughter walk 8km in 2°C cold to school because she was involved in terrorism

Matt’s daughter, Kirsten, came home to learn that she had been suspended for the second time for cursing at a student and preventing him from getting off the school bus. So, the father resorted to a more drastic measure: he forced his 10-year-old daughter to walk 8 km in 2°C cold to go to school for three days. In the man’s mind, the girl did not appreciate the comfort of the bus and had to bear the consequences of misbehaving.

“At first he was upset that I told him he had to walk, but after the first day he realized it was his fault and his actions that got him in trouble, so he accepted it and understood,” Matt told PEOPLE :

He also assured that Kirsten is not in any danger. “He was safe as long as I was watching him so he was never in danger and now seems to appreciate his morning bus route.”

Matt filmed the girl’s entire journey to school and shared it on Facebook with the caption ‘Life Lessons’. The video quickly went viral.

In the footage, Kirsten can be seen walking on the side of the road as her father follows the car and explains his point of view. “Many children today think that what their parents do for them is a right rather than a privilege, like taking their children to school in the morning. Matt was praised but also heavily criticized for his attitude, seen by some users as inhuman and excessive. However, the father insists that he did the right thing by not feeling sorry for the punishment. She believes that her daughter has learned her lesson and the video is an example for other children. “It recognizes the epidemic of bullying that we have in our country today,” he concluded.
