Ferns have been decorating the interiors of our apartments and houses for years. They are extremely decorative indoor plants, but sometimes they can be problematic. Some may appear or worsen in the fall. We advise you on what to pay attention to and how to care for the fern throughout the year so that it grows beautifully and lushly.
Ferns are classic tiles. They occur naturally in the lowest parts of forests, including tropical forests. That’s why they don’t like the harsh sun and dry air. You have to remember that, and they will reciprocate with a nice look.
If we received a fern as a gift or want to buy it ourselves, let’s prepare a place for her in a room with windows facing north or east. When the windows in our apartment face south or southwest, we put the plant, for example, on a stand slightly away from the window. The shade will also protect our fern from direct sunlight. It will provide it with diffused light, which this plant likes very much.
It is worth remembering that ferns do not like to touch or hit their leaves often. Their tips can then wither. Let’s take this into account when choosing a place for the fern.
Another necessary condition for the fern to grow nicely is ensuring adequate air humidity. It is difficult to find it in apartments with central heating, therefore this problem occurs most often in autumn. Therefore, during the heating season, every few days you should spray the leaves with lukewarm (preferably boiled) water from the sprinkler or from time to time sprinkle the plant with a shower. It can also be placed near a humidifier.
