White House National Security Spokesman. John Kirby (pictured), urged all US citizens leave Russia “For your safety”.
“This is not the time for Americans to be in Russia.”Kirby said on Friday (31), adding: “If you are in Russia now, whether for business or pleasure, no matter what kind of trip, must leave now».
Kirby ranked Russia a “hostile environment” for Americans. “This is not a good time to be in Russia, even if you are a professional journalist.”.
The warning was issued the day after the arrest Evan Gershkovich, an American journalist in Moscow, works for the Wall Street Journal economic newspaper. He must remain in custody until May 29 alleged crime: espionage.
