Globo gets broadcast rights for ONE Championship

Globo acquired the exclusive rights to broadcast ONE Championship fight events in Brazil through the Combate channel. In addition to broadcasting 12 live events per year in prime time, the multi-year contract, which comes into effect in January 2023, covers the editorial coverage of events on TV Globo, SporTV and ge.globo.

According to Nielsen, ONE Championship is one of the world’s top five sports owners by viewership and engagement. Currently, the martial arts organization produces and distributes events in more than 150 countries and has a roster of athletes from more than 80 countries representing MMA, Muay Thai, Kickboxing, grappling and mixed martial arts.

Brazilian athletes on the list include: John Lineker, ONE world bantamweight champion; Allycia Hellen Rodrigues, world champion in muay thai atomweight; Adriano Moraes, former ONE flyweight world champion; Bibiano Fernandes, former ONE bantamweight world champion; Marcus “Buchecha” Almeida, ONE heavyweight contender; and Andre Galvão from grappling.
