A month after the loss of one of the most brilliant journalists in Brazilian journalism, I learned that Gloria Maria will be named after a street in Buzios, Rio de Janeiro. According to Jornal Extra, Rua Jamelao, where he had a house, will be called “Rua Jornalista Glória Maria”.
The street is located in the Geriba district and is named after Mayor Alexander Martins’ Municipal Order No. 2118.
The name change came as “a way to pay civil tribute, as well as to preserve the immaterial cultural heritage of the municipality, to develop the memorization of history.”
