Rio de Janeiro Governor Claudio Castro (PL; photo) said this Tuesday (7) that Fernando Haddad (PT) agrees to a review of the state’s fiscal plan.
The discussion comes after the ICMS cut, which cost the state BRL 5 billion in 2022 and should result in losses of BRL 10 billion for this year.
“Minister Haddad wants to solve this fuel issue at once by the end of next week.”Castro said after the meeting with the minister.
“He asked me that as soon as he solves it, we should enter into the review of the foundations of the tax regime. He (Haddad) agrees there should be a review because it was a federal issue.”he added.
