How Jerry Lee Lewis was thought to be dead, “reanimated” and now he’s dead

On Wednesday evening (26), the American website TVZ reported that he had died, but had to withdraw after finding out that its source was wrong.

Singer and pianist Jerry Lee Lewis died this Friday (28) at the age of 87 at his home in Tennessee (USA). If you read this information with déjà vu, know that it is not a mistake. this is the second time he has been declared dead this week.

On Wednesday evening (26), the American website TVZ reported that he had died, but had to withdraw after finding out that its source was wrong.

“Jerry Lee Lewis is not dead as we previously reported. We’re told the rock ‘n’ roll legend is alive and well in Memphis. Earlier today, someone claiming to be a representative for Lewis told us that he had passed away. It turned out not to be so. TMZ regrets the error,” the newspaper said.

The information caused websites in Brazil and the United States to repost the news. Splash was one of the vehicles to repeat the information, citing TMZ. The material was removed from the air.

A representative for Lewis told Page Six. “He’s alive. TMZ reported it incorrectly based on anonymous tips.”

This Friday, however, Jerry Lee Lewis’ agent confirmed his death.

Next, Zach Farnum issued a statement to the American press. “Judith, his seventh wife, was by his side when he died at his home in Desoto County, Mississippi, south of Memphis. He told her in his last days that he welcomed the future and that he was not afraid.’
