in an interview with CrusoeStudent Alex Hernandez (pictured) said giving up his nationality doesn’t stop him from continuing to feel Nicaragua. He was in a band 222 political prisoners exiled by the dictatorship Daniel Ortegaon February 9.
“Honestly, I didn’t think it was dementia of dictators Ortega and Rosario Murillo would reach that… It is legal arbitrariness. Despite this, the fact is that I cannot return to my country. The only document sent by the government USA, my passport is invalid. I never thought of leaving my country like that. I couldn’t even bring a suitcase. Now I’m here, in another world, wondering how to rebuild my life. The United States is a land of opportunity, but it is a society very much focused on consumption. The change in climate and culture is drastic.”
