Inditex employees in A Coruña are threatening an indefinite strike

Employees of Inditex stores called for a new strike demanding a Salary increase for the following December 23, the eve of Christmas Eve. The new call, which will repeat the protests from November 24 and 25which coincided with ‘Black Friday’, was agreed at the board meetings of the companies of the province of A Coruña, he reported IGC.

Nationalist headquarters, which was registered in 90% strike tracking at the end of November, he announced that the workers would be ready to go to indefinite strike during the January sales.

Therefore, they believe that the proposal presented at the open negotiating table in A Coruña is “insufficient”, because it iscall for a progressive increase of their salaries, which reaches 440 euros per month, compared to “limiting the increase to a total of 182.93 euros per month in 2024”.

CIG criticizes the measure because it wastes money “benefits in billions of dollars” every year, while charging against the refusal to apply social rights to sales staff that are already recognized in other companies, such as “assistance for care, for the purchase of books or a dining voucher”. To all this, CIG continues, it is added that saleswomen must “endure” “the worst hours and days”with “high bias”, since “the 40-hour workday is considered a privilege”.
