Infinix smartphones will get 260W charging

From time to time, the parameter in the specification of the smartphone changes, in which their manufacturers excel. Some time ago it was the number of Mpix in the main camera, and now we can see a kind of race in terms of maximum charging power. Another manufacturer has just joined it – Infinix, which announced 260W wired charging technology as well as fast inductive charging.

Who gives more?

Smartphone manufacturer Infinix has unveiled its technology Fast charging overall, which will allow wired charging with a power of 260 W. The company declares that thanks to the use of this technology, users will be able to charge up to 25% of the battery capacity in a minute. In turn, charging the battery from 1% to 100% takes about 7.5 minutes.

The operation of the new charging mechanism is based on a scheme that uses 4 pumps to efficiently manage the device’s energy consumption. Thanks to the use of charge pumps, an improved 12C battery with a capacity of 4400 mAh and a multi-electrode structure, the system achieves a high charge conversion efficiency of 98.5%, which has a positive effect on the durability of the battery. According to the information provided by the manufacturer, it is able to retain more than 90% of its original capacity even after a thousand charge cycles.

The 260W charger uses high power density triple GaN material PFC+AHB circuit architecture. Infinix ensures that it can also be used to charge other devices, thanks to the use of an E-marker chip that controls the flow of energy.

It is worth noting, however, that in the race mentioned at the beginning, the Infinix brand will not lead, since Xiaomi recently announced breaking records and achieving charging with a power of 300 W, thanks to which the smartphone will be charged to 100% in about 5 minutes.

Fast wireless charging from Infinix

The Chinese manufacturer emphasizes this Fast charging overall is not only fast wired charging, but also inductive charging with a power of 110 W. This solution allows you to wirelessly charge the battery from 1% to 100% in just 16 minutes.

The creation of such a solution became possible thanks to the use of specially made non-standard low-sensitivity coils. Designed for the needs of the new technology, the charger will allow charging both vertically and horizontally.

Infinix has long been a pioneer in fast charging technology – two years ago we launched 160W FastCharge and last year 180W Thunder Charge. Now we offer another completely secure, intelligent and flexible solution. 260W All-Round FastCharge and 110W Wireless All-Round FastCharge take technology to a whole new level.
Lian Zhang, Deputy General Manager of Infinix

When will the new fast charging technology reach customers? The brand has confirmed that smartphones that support 260W charging will debut in the market later this year in the Infinix NOTE series.
