Following in the footsteps of other key services, Instagram offers its users to generate a summary of 2022. At the same time, it leaves a lot of room for creativity.

Usually, websites offering year summaries simply represent how we’ve used individual apps in recent months. We have no direct influence on the form of such a statement. This was the case, for example, with this year’s Spotify Wrapped or a handful of facts about the games we play most often with the PlayStation account.
Instagram went in a slightly different direction. He left the template Roll with audio narration by Bad Bunny and music by DJ Khaleed and kind of said: “do what you want.”
So you can create your own, unique summary of the year – not with photos and videos suggested by the application, but with random content from the gallery of our smartphone. This is worth emphasizing: it’s not just about reposting photos and videos we’ve already uploaded. We can choose things we haven’t shared on the platform before and surprise our followers with something completely fresh.
How to summarize the year?
If you’re a regular visitor to the Instagram app, you’ve probably already come across the encouragement to share your highlight list with others. If the application has not yet “thrown” such a proposal to us, it is worth looking at the Rolls creation section, where the Recap Reel 2022 template should be the first available.
I wonder if other companies will decide to publish similar statements. We already have data from Google, YouTube or Reddit. I’d expect a similar movement from, say, Xbox or Steam – I’ll be happy to check how much time I’ve spent this year wandering around virtual worlds.
