Irish prop Andrew Porter cited for breaking Brodie Retallick tackle

Ireland pillar Andrew Porter Tuesday was cited as the high tackle that broke New Zealand’s collar and cheekbones Brody Retalek Victory in last weekend’s series full black.


In Ireland’s 32-22 win over Wellington on Saturday, Porter was booked for a head-on collision with Retalek, who is expected to miss up to eight weeks.

The result was Ireland’s first win over the All Blacks in New Zealand.

Ireland won the series 2-1 to overtake France to the top of the men’s world rugby rankings for the first time since the system was introduced 19 years ago. New Zealand ranked fourth.
