Jakdojade is an extremely useful application. If we use public transport in a city, it will show us the departure time of buses or trams, and we will also buy tickets there. Now its functions have been expanded.
Jakdojade in finding rail connections
Not so long ago, the Jakdojade app finally started functioning in Wrocław. And this is only the beginning of the changes that its creators have prepared. Well, when we open the app on a smartphone or through a web browser on a desktop, we will be greeted with a message about the new feature on the website: search for train connections between cities.
We will be using the beta for both mobile and browser. It is likely that after a period of successful testing it will be possible to introduce stable releases of the program.
You don’t have to try a new option at this stage. You can opt out of it by simply bypassing the sharing prompt. Therefore, the developers ask for help in working on the final appearance of the service and offer to send reports in case we encounter difficulties in the operation of the website.
Of course, we could not miss such an opportunity and checked how it works.
Rail links in Jakdojade – what is and what is not?
We can currently search for train connections between 50 cities in Poland. If we choose the route we are interested in, after confirming it, we will be redirected to the results screen. This is almost the same as searching for local calls.
The results include not only trains of regional carriers, but also PKP Intercity. So we have a chance to plan our trip.
Both in the mobile version for Android and iOS, we can track the entire route of the connection, including the estimated travel time. We also have descriptions of the trains used or information about WiFi in the carriages. You can even see if a train is late. It’s a very practical thing.
For now, the news in Jakdojade can only be informative. Tickets cannot be purchasedregardless of carrier. So we have pretty limited options.
I wonder when Jakdojade will start working with carriers to purchase tickets. At this moment the situation is that – let’s say – PKP Intercity tickets can be purchased in several applications, for example mPay or e-traveler. Personally, I am waiting for such an opportunity to appear in KOLEO, which I like and use.
We’ll see where such an option appears sooner.
