Justice orders the return of Domingos Brazao to TCE-RJ

The Court of Justice of Rio decided this Tuesday (7) the return of Domingos Brazao to the State Court of Auditors. By a vote of 2 to 1, the 13th Private Law Chamber of the TJ ordered the consultant’s return to TCE-RJ.
In 2017, he and four other councilors were temporarily arrested during Operation Quinto do Ouro, an offshoot of Lava Jato in Rio. According to the Federal Public Ministry, the targets of the attack received bribes to turn a blind eye to the embezzlement of state coffers by a group led by former governor Sergio Cabral.
The investigation was based on the award-winning conviction of former court president Jonas Lopez. In April of that year, the five directors were released, but with restrictions set by the Justice. All were then barred from returning to their positions at TCE-RJ.
