KSW Colosseum 2 Adds Mariusz Pudzianowski vs. Artur Szpilka Heavyweight
The biggest star in KSW history will be on hand when promotion returns to PGE Narodowy in Warsaw. Poland for performances at the stadium later this year.
Former heavyweight and longtime heavyweight Mariusz Pudzianowski (17-8) will face former WBC title challenger Artur Szpilka (2-0) at the event, which takes place on June 3, 2023.
The show was a promotional back to the venue of KSW 39: Colosseum, which took place in 2017 at the same venue. which set a European attendance record for mixed martial arts competitions. Overall, KSW 39 was the second highest attended MMA event in the history of the sport, with 57,766 spectators.
Pudzianowski (17-8, 1NC) had a five-bout winning streak in his last outing. When he lost to Mamed Khalidov, KSW’s former middleweight champion (and formerly light heavyweight champion), Khalidov made his heavyweight debut in the fight.
Former World’s Strongest Man winner “Pudzian” has joined the promotion from the start. Debuting at KSW 12 in 2009, all but one of his fights were under the banner of promotion.
Fellow pole Artur Szpilka may lack experience in MMA, but posted a 24-to-5 record as a professional fighter. He faces Deontay. Wilder for the WBC Heavyweight Championship in 2016 and also competes with Derek. Chisora as well
At 33, Szpilka will enter a much younger fighter compared to Mariusz Pudzianowski, who turned 46 in February.
