Some tweets slammed the social media star for being “careless”.
“Lasizwe vs the number of followers you have. This is probably a careless posting. If the warning is true, can you please look back at this post after losing your life,” @RealFun05266982 wrote.

The US embassy alerted Thornton to a possible terrorist attack this weekend (Wednesday, October 26). Despite the threat of a terrorist attack, organisers confirmed that the race will go ahead.
“Johannesburg Pride has not been directly threatened, nor have we received any communication from outside parties other than what the media hypothesized through the US embassy website,” Johannesburg Pride president Kaye Ally said in a statement according to the IOL. .
