Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon/Nano/Yoga (2023). What’s new?

Lenovo was the first to start showing off its hardware offering for 2023. First, we’ll be looking at no less than three new offerings in the ThinkPad laptop family. These are refreshed versions of the ThinkPad X1 Carbon, ThinkPad X1 Nano, and ThinkPad X1 Yoga.

The first of Lenovo’s new laptops is ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 11. This is equipment that, in terms of style, strongly resembles previous models. However, the manufacturer opted to use recycling, which led to adapting the recovered magnesium in, among other things, the palm rest or the panel at the bottom of the laptop.

Inside, there’s a wide selection of 13th Gen Intel Raptor Lake processors (mostly low-voltage processors) with the Intel Iris Xe system. In addition, we can count up to 64 GB of RAM and a 2 TB SSD.

The screen also seems very solid – it 14″ OLED displaydisplaying an image at a resolution of 2880 x 1800 pixels with a peak brightness of 400 nits.

In terms of ports, you can count on 2x Thunderbolt 4, 2x USB 3.2 type A, HDMI and microphone and headphone connectors.

The premiere of the laptop will take place in April next year, and the starting price will be up to $1,729 (about 7,600 PLN net).

The second first is the ThinkPad X1 Nano Gen 3. It is a very light piece of equipment, also using elements recovered in the recycling process as far as the casing is concerned. 13″ screen it will offer us touch support at a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. We can also count on a solid brightness of up to 450 nits.

Additionally, low-voltage Intel Raptor Lake processors (up to Core i7) will be found on board, along with 16GB of RAM and a 2TB SSD. The array of ports – interestingly – looks identical to the ThinkPad X1 Carbon slightly larger.

The premiere will also take place in April next year – the price is $1,649, or about 7,240 PLN excluding taxes.

The latest addition to this series is the ThinkPad X1 Yoga Gen 8. Of course, we are dealing here with a laptop based on hinge that allows the screen to rotate 360 ​​degrees.

The 14″ matrix will display the image in full 4K – there will also be touch support, which is obvious, after all, this is convertible equipment. The equipment will also offer a reinforced case, and among the ports we have the same set as the predecessors – 2x Thunderbolt 4, 2x USB 3.2 type A, HDMI and a microphone and headphone connector.

Few changes in terms of technical specifications – here too we will find 13th generation Intel Raptor Lake processors, supported by up to 64 GB of RAM, while for data we will receive an SSD with a capacity up to 2 TB.

The debut of the laptop will also take place in April, and the starting price is $1,859 (about 8,170 PLN excluding tax).
