LOTOS disappears from the Polish market. How about Navigator?

LOTOS, PKN Orlen and MOL are currently very hot topics. Drivers in Poland will soon be able to refuel at several hundred MOL stations, which will be renamed LOTOS stations (and not only). So there were questions about what to do with the Navigator loyalty program. We know what will happen to him.

MOL takes over LOTOS stations

On November 30, 2022, PKN Orlen signed a 100% agreement with the Hungarian fuel giant MOL for the sale of LOTOS gas stations. This was required by the European Commission – it was one of the conditions that PKN Orlen had to fulfill in order for the EC to approve the merger of Grupa LOTOS and Grupa Orlen – the finalization of the merger was announced on 1 August 2022.

According to the above-mentioned agreement, MOL will take over 417 stations currently operating under the LOTOS brand, giving it a total of 500 stations in Poland, as it also controls the stations of Slovnaft Partners. This was reported by the Hungarians the process of introducing the MOL brand to the Polish market will begin immediately. According to information obtained by Business Insider, the first station under the MOL brand will start operating in Poland in 2022, and eventually the stations of the Slovnaft Partners chain will also receive it.

What will happen to the LOTOS Navigator program after the station is taken over by MOL?

A graphic appeared on the website with information that NAVIGATOR remains unchanged – its members can still receive and use points in the same way as before. So if you have a Navigator card, nothing changes for you except that you will soon be earning points at MOL stations.

Emails were also sent to Navigator program participants informing them of this on December 1, 2022, the name of LOTOS Paliwa changed to MOL Polska and the company became part of the MOL Group, which also took over the LOTOS Navigator program.

On the occasion of the acquisition, participants in the Navigator program also received a gift in the form of 200 additional points, which they can exchange for coffee or hot dogs at the stations or prizes from the catalog. The voucher is located in the Navigator app and can be redeemed until January 31, 2023.

The rules of the program, the catalog of prizes and all the necessary information can still be found at

PKN Orlen had to sell MOL stations, but at the same time it won nearly 200 stations outside Poland

Although after the merger with Grupa LOTOS Orlen had to sell 417 stations belonging to it, at the same time, from December 1, 2022, it became the owner of 143 stations in Hungary and 39 stations in Slovakia. 79 stations in Hungary under the LUKOIL brand will acquire the Orlen brand within a few days. The rebranding of the remaining 64 stations in Hungary is to be carried out sequentially by mid-2024, while those in Slovakia will be completed in mid-2023.

Orlen Group will eventually have over 230 stations in Hungary and Slovakia, making it one of the four largest players in both markets. At the same time, Orlen stations will operate in six European countries. MOL Group operates in ten markets and will become the third largest player in Poland (after PKN Orlen and bp). It is also worth noting that although there are three refineries (near Bratislava and Budapest and in Rijeka), most of the fuel will be purchased from Polish refineries.
