Lula attends the presentation of the TSE medal to Pacheco

This Tuesday (the 7th), Lula attended the awarding ceremony of the Medal of Merit by the Supreme Electoral Court to Rodrigo Pacheco. The President of the Senate received the medal from the Chairman of the Electoral Court Alexander de Moraes (photo)..
Central Bank President Roberto Campos Neto was also present at the ceremony. It was the first public event he and Lula have attended since the president and other PT supporters stepped up their criticism of the central bank over the key interest rate.
The tribute to Pacheco was proposed by Ricardo Lewandowski and unanimously approved at the TSE plenary last October.
In a speech on behalf of the Electoral Court, Minister Carmen Lucia thanked the President of the Senate and, without mentioning Jair Bolsonaro, stated that Brazil has experienced conflicts. “motivated by the contamination of ideas of democratic destruction, distilled falsehoods, widespread falsehoods [e] Doubts arise about institutions”.
