Federal police and customs caught two travelers smuggling drugs at Dortmund airport. The first case happened on June 27. Federal police officers showed up with a suspicious traveler to customs officials at Dortmund Airport. The police suspected that the young man, who had entered the country from the Republic of Kosovo, could be a drug carrier.

The inspection of the 36-year-old Polish man’s hand luggage went unnoticed. However, a drug wipe test performed tested positive for cocaine, cannabis and amphetamine. During the subsequent search of the traveler, customs officials then found a bag with 1.2 grams of hashish hidden in his underwear. Criminal proceedings have been initiated against the traveler. The hash was seized as material evidence.

On June 30, ramp screening staff at Dortmund Airport informed customs officials that a suitcase checked in Heviz, Hungary, had a strong odor of marijuana. Customs officials then searched the suitcase and found a total of 12.7 grams of marijuana wrapped in underwear. For the 30-year-old German, who owned the suitcase, there is already a legal continuation of the accusation of drug smuggling. Marijuana was also seized as material evidence.
