Manchester United star Brandon Williams targeted by Brighton in shock £15million move as replacement for City-bound Marco Cucurella

MANCHESTER UNITED left-back Brandon Williams is a target for Brighton, according to reports.

The Mirror claim that £15million could be needed to sign the 21-year-old.

Williams sees the Seagulls as a replacement for Manchester City’s Marco Cucurella.

The Man Utd academy graduate spent last season on loan at Norwich.

He played 29 times for the Canaries as they were relegated.

Williams, who made 50 appearances for United, now finds his first-team chances blocked following the signing of Tyrell Malacio from Feyenoord.

With the Dutchman, Luke Shaw and Alex Telles above him in the pecking order, a move away from Old Trafford may be needed.

If Williams doesn’t sign for Brighton, he is also reportedly eyeing Arsenal ace Nuno Tavares.

Meanwhile, speculation suggests that Pep Guardiola has scouted Cucurella on numerous occasions and believes the player’s attacking style of play will suit Man City perfectly.

Brighton are willing to let the 24-year-old leave if they receive an offer they consider good enough.

Graham Potter’s side are reportedly holding out for £50m for the Spaniard after rejecting an initial bid of £30m from the champions.

City are desperate to land a left-back after selling Oleksandr Zinchenko to Arsenal.

If the club fail to complete a deal for Cucurella, attention could turn to Benfica’s Alex Grimaldo.
