It has just been announced that Marvin Pourié is now playing for third division side SV Meppen. Werner played his first test match against a Bundesliga team and scored directly.
Marvin Pourié has found a new club: the Werner footballer is now playing for SV Meppen in the third division. After being relegated to Würzburger Kickers, he at least prevented a personal downfall. Now he has played his first Test.
On Saturday, 31-year-old Werner played for SVM against Bundesliga club Schalke 04 at the Parkstadion in Gelsenkirchen. And at first everything looked as if Schalke would fulfill their role as favourites: Dominick Drexler put S04 in the lead.
But it was Marvin Pourié of all people, who was on the field from the start, who heralded the turning point. He headed in a cross almost immediately to make it 1-1 – Pourié’s first goal for SV Meppen.
As a result, Werner and his team turned the game around and eventually won 3-1 against the Bundesliga side, which was not undeserved. For Marvin Pourié, who himself has a past at Schalke, it was the first game and first goal for SV Meppen. Many more are to follow.
