One of the most famous footballers in the world, Lionel Messi, bought 35 iPhones plated with 24k gold. Their value is almost PLN 1 million. It must be admitted that the captain of the Argentina national team made a gesture for not buying smartphones.

iDesign Gold, known for its collaborations with sports stars, is responsible for iPhone personalization. Created personalized smartphones, e.g. for Lorenzo Insigne, Neymar and Ronaldinho. The Sun reported that Lionel Messi contacted the company’s CEO, Ben Lyons, and together they came up with a gold iPhone design.
According to Lyons, Messi is one of iDesign Gold’s most loyal customers. After the World Cup final, Lionel contacted the company to order a special gift for the entire Argentina team and staff to celebrate their remarkable victory. Remember that Argentina won their third World Cup title, beating France 4-2 on penalties in the final. The team captain was voted the best player of the tournament and celebrated his first trophy at the fifth World Cup in a row.
After this extraordinary performance, Messi expressed a desire to thank his teammates with more than just watches, so Ben Lyons offered him gold iPhones engraved with the players’ names – an idea the footballer immediately liked.
