LALELA MSWANE returns to SA as Miss Supranational
Miss Supranational Lalela Mswane returned to South Africa from Poland on Friday 29 July. She was greeted by cheering fans at OR Tambo International Airport ahead of her press conference.
Laleila is currently Miss South Africa. She was crowned Miss Supranational on Friday 15 July at the beauty pageant final at the Strzelecki Park Amphitheatre in Novo Sanchi, Poland.
Laleila made history in beauty pageants. She is the first Miss South Africa to be crowned Miss Supranational and the first black woman to be crowned Miss Supranational. The beauty queen is also the first woman to wear the new Ricardo crown. For the first time in 13 years, Miss Supranational has changed the crown of this year’s pageant.
According to Global Beauties, the tiara is made with a special piece of jewelry with a modern look that represents unity and brotherhood among nations. The 24-year-old is also a runner-up in the Miss Universe pageant in December 2021. Miss Thailand was the runner-up, and Miss Vietnam was the third. This year, 69 countries participated in the pageant.

Miss SA becomes Miss Supranational
Larera expressed her gratitude for wearing the crown. She also acknowledged that it was a big week for women in South Africa following Banyana Banyana’s win.
“Before my return to Johannesburg, two weeks in Poland gave me the opportunity to immerse myself in everything. I am grateful and share the crown with everyone in this country,” she said in a statement.
“I’m the first black woman to win a title — what a great time. It’s a big week for women after Banyana Banyana won and went home. I’m full of national pride,” she continued .
