PGR denounces another 25 people for acts of vandalism in DF; the total goes to 937

The MPF accuses 24 people of inciting violent protests and one of occupying the Planalto Palace; Minister Alexandre de Moraes will decide whether the accused will become defendants

or Office of the Attorney General (PGR) presented this Wednesday, the 8th, new complaints against 24 protesters accused of inciting acts of vandalism at the headquarters of the Three Powers on January 8th. The actions were filed in the investigation investigating the participation of persons in the robbery of public property. In addition, there was also the filing of a complaint against a person accused of occupying the Palácio do Planalto, the seat of the Executive Branch. In total, the number of persons denounced by the Strategic Group for Combating Anti-Democratic Acts reached 937. It will be up to the reporter of the investigation, Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), to decide whether the denounced will to become defendants. Accused of the crimes of incitement equal to the hostility of the Armed Forces to the Constitutional Powers and criminal association, those involved may be sentenced to imprisonment of up to 3 years and 3 months. For not reaching the four-year threshold, some of the accused have already appeared and requested the removal of detention. Signed by the coordinator of the Strategic Group for Combating Anti-Democratic Acts, Carlos Frederico Santos, the group accused of committing the acts, that is, serious crimes committed with violence and serious threats, can face sentences exceeding 20 years in prison. In parallel with the submission of complaints, the Strategic Group has been working to identify all persons involved in the acts, released after a court decision. This group consists of 458 people who were arrested in the act on January 8 and then released on preventive measures other than prison. The objective is to analyze the situation of each of them and, depending on the collected evidence, present the relevant complaints”, concluded the body.
