Pope Francis left the hospital to participate in Palm Sunday
It is expected that the Pope will be present at the Mass this Sunday, the 2nd, in St. Peter’s Square, as confirmed this Friday, the 31st, by the spokesman of the Holy See, Matteo Bruni.

On the morning of this Saturday, the 1st Pope Francis has been released from A. Gemelli University Hospital, as stated in the announcement of the Press Office of the Holy See. Before leaving the premises, at around 10:35 Italian time (5:35 Brasília time), the Holy Father greeted the Rector of the Catholic University, Franco Anelli, with his closest collaborators, the General Director of the Polyclinic, Marco Elefanti, Ecclesiastical Assistant General of the Catholic University, Monsignor Claudio Giuliodori and the team of doctors and health agents who helped him during these days. Upon leaving the hospital, Francisco got out of the car and greeted and blessed the people outside. He embraced a couple who lost their daughter last night, Friday, stopping to pray with them, the Vatican Press Office announced. At the age of 86, Jorge Bergoglio was hospitalized on Wednesday, the 29th, to treat an infectious bronchitis. The expectation is that the Pope will be present at the Palm Sunday Mass in St. Peter’s Square, as confirmed this Friday, the 31st, by the spokesman of the Holy See, Matteo Bruni.
Given his health, the Vatican is working on a program that will allow him to celebrate Easter, and rumors are that the rites will be performed at the altar by different cardinals, but led by Francis. Palm Sunday will be led by the Vice-Dean of the College of Cardinals, Cardinal Leonardo Sandri, who with this celebration will open the most important week of the liturgical calendar, in which Catholics commemorate the death and resurrection of Christ. This is the second time Francis has been admitted to this Roman hospital, after he had colon surgery on July 4, 2021 and spent ten days in the health unit. Since then, the Pope has suffered only one problem with his right knee, which forces him to walk with a cane or a wheelchair, and on several occasions he has assured that he does not want surgery.
