Preview for UFC Vegas 63: Calvin Kattar

Tomorrow night at the UFC Vegas 63 headline we’ll see an absolute slam dunk in the featherweight division. Top contenders Calvin Kater (23-6) and Arnold Allen (18-1) meet as both men look to take a step towards the title race.

The last time we saw Calvin Kater back in June when he faced Josh Emmett. The battle was imminent and I personally think that a train had won. However, the judges gave the fight to Emmett and now Train would be looking to get back on track. Before the Battle of Emmett, a train brutally treated Giga Chikadze in January.

Arnold Allen made his UFC debut in 2015 at 9-1. From his start, he performed 9-0 perfectly and continues to advance in the competition. His last fight came back in March at UFC London when he welcomed Dan Hooker back to the featherweight division.

It wasn’t a warm welcome as Allen Hooker broke in completely and stopped him in the first round. Now, he’ll be looking to take his toughest test yet at Calvin Cuttar.

Predict UFC Vegas 63

I think we’ll have a stand up fight at UFC Vegas 63. On paper, Arnold Allen is the most experienced fighter. Between mixing in his kicks and fighting, he should have advantages in many areas in this fight. However, will he win?

This, I’m not sure. When these two are within amazing range, Calvin Train will feel right at home. He has some of the best pure boxing in the department and would hit Arnold Allen. If a train finds its flow early, it can really touch Arnold Allen.

I think this battle will see many contradictions. In the end, I only think Calvin Train will land the most impactful hits over the course of five rounds. Expect a war and closely anticipate a fight, but I expect a victory for The Boston Finisher.

Prediction: Calvin Kater by Decision
