The appearance of the first laptops equipped with AMD Ryzen 9 7940HS APUs could significantly increase competition in the high-performance laptop segment. It turns out, however, that this quad-core system also has another very interesting weapon.
AMD’s New “Integration” Offers Many Possibilities
We’re talking about the integrated GPU in the form of the Radeon 780M, which is based on the RDNA 3 architecture known from the desktop Radeon RX 7000 series. The effects of the new technology can be seen in the pre-release benchmarks .
AMD’s new APU was tested in the 3DMark benchmark, and more specifically in the Time Spy scenario. The equipment additionally equipped with LPDDR5 RAM with a clock speed of 6400 MHz allowed to exceed the threshold of 3000 points with respect to the graphics system.

This is a very good result if we take into account the integrated GPU segment. Also, this is not the end result, as the CPU was not running at the highest TDP, and additionally, the new AMD APU is capable of handling faster LPDDR5X memory with clock speed up to at 7500 MHz.
What does it mean? Well, the fact that the Radeon 780M is able to achieve a better result than the GeForce GTX 1650 Ti notebook, and also very close to the GeForce RTX 2050. At the moment, of course, it is difficult to look for a comparison with The GeForce RTX 30 and 40 family systems, but we know – it’s a completely different shelf.

Either way, using the new Ryzen can make it the need for an additional and cheap gaming laptop will be something absolutely negligible. The GeForce GTX 1650 Ti is a system that can still be found in many game designs at the price of around 3000 PLN.
Now we can get the performance of such a laptop in games with much less power consumption. It’s a very interesting situation.
