Giovanni Reyna is the latest international player to return to Dortmund. BVB coach Edin Terzic can now work with almost the entire squad. It continues in rapid succession.
Although BVB played a second pre-season friendly and won 2-0 at Dynamo Dresden, the focus on Saturday was more on Dortmund. There the national players – including newcomers Sebastien Haller, Niklas Süle, Nico Schlotterbeck, Karim Adeyemi and Salih Özcan – completed performance diagnostics at Brackel and at the Technical University.
BVB-Terzic about the test in Dresden: “It can’t be better
The announced reboot project may now be bursting with life. Coach Edin Terzic also welcomed the last returnee on Sunday. Giovanni Reyna is working hard towards his comeback after a season to forget. Initially, however, the midfielder will probably complete a moderate workload and gradually integrate into training operations.
Terzic hailed the Dresden game as an all-around success. “A day like this in preparation can’t be better than today. We had great opponents, the atmosphere was great. No injuries, we kept a clean sheet.”
BVB are testing in Verl on Thursday – then go to Bad Ragaz
The expectation to work with almost the entire team from Monday afternoon is added: “Actually, today we saw for the first time one or two national players. But we were in touch from before, we visited some of the guys, we spoke face to face again before we started. But of course it’s nice when you’re finally done. Time is running out. Every day is important.”
Before the training camp in Bad Ragaz on Friday afternoon, there is a friendly with third division club SC Verl on Thursday evening (18:00, with us live). Haller and Co could make their debut in the yellow jersey there.
