The police are looking for the woman who took part in the accident after the accident on Datelner Street in Ludinghausen on Monday (July 18). This was reported by the press service of the Kosfeld local district police body.

According to the police press release, what happened was as follows. Around 7:50 a.m., a 25-year-old driver from Selm moved along Dattelner Street in the direction of the center of Seppenrade. The unknown driver intended to turn left from An den Kämpen onto Dattelner Straße. It collided with Selmerin’s car.

According to the police report, the stranger drove around in a gray SUV and fled the scene. According to the police, the woman is about 40 years old, has shoulder-length blonde hair and wears glasses. Ludinghausen police are asking for information on phone number 02591-7930.

Leaving the scene of an accident without authorization, also known as hit or run, is a criminal offense punishable under Section 142 of the Penal Code. It can be punished with imprisonment for a maximum period of three years or a fine.

In 2021, Cosfield County Police recorded a total of 1,005 road accidents involving unauthorized leaving the scene of an accident. In 2020, 1022 such accidents were registered.
