Some areas will be without electricity for up to four hours, warns City Power – SABC News

City Power in Johannesburg has warned residents that some areas will be without electricity for up to four hours instead of two hours – when unloading Stage 6.

Stage 6 unloading began at 2pm on Thursday and will continue until midnight.

The power company says the ongoing unprotected strike makes it difficult to keep systems stable.

Stage 6 will again run from 5 a.m. to midnight on Friday.

City Power spokesman Isaac Mangena says these are the side effects of reducing the workload that everyone has to live with until the challenges with Eskom’s capacity are resolved.

“Stage 6 for unloading is really causing shocks and challenges for City Power and our customers. According to Eskom’s schedule, we learned that during the higher stages of unloading, especially stage 6 or 8, if we get there, there will be customers in some blocks that will be vacated in four hours instead of the two hours that people usually loaded. . It also means that customers have to prepare to be loaded three or four times a day, ”adds Mangena.
