Sony E 11mm f/1.8, Sony E 15mm f/1.4 G and Sony E PZ 10-20mm f/4 G – premiere

Sony remembers the APS-C segment and presents 3 interesting lenses that are of particular interest to filmmakers, but not only. The Sony E 11 mm f / 1.8, Sony E 15 mm f / 1.4 G and Sony E PZ 10-20 mm f / 4 G models are a combination of high quality optics and a lightweight construction.

New lenses Sony E 11mm f/1.8, Sony E 15mm f/1.4G and Sony E PZ 10-20mm f / 4 G is a tribute to people who use A6XXX series cameras and the ZV-E10 model for shooting, and probably a preview of the changes to come in the segment. These are three similar lenses, but with different options and prices.

Sony E 11 mm f / 1.8 – bright premium vlogger

The cheapest of the three, the Sony E 11mm f/1.8 is designed to be the ideal companion for people who only need a wide viewing angle and pleasant background blur to be completely happy. The lens is built around 12 elements in 11 groups and a 7-blade diaphragm. Among the lenses, you can find up to 3 aspherical elements and 3 ED lenses, so you can doubt that despite Sony’s basic offer, the lens can boast good results. In addition, thanks to the minimum focusing distance of only 12 cm, we can take great close-up photos.

The Sony E 11mm f / 1.8 is also supposed to be fast, thanks to a dual linear AF motor that ensures efficient and smooth cooperation with tracking systems. Fans of manual focusing, on the other hand, will be pleased with the linear movement of the focus ring, which allows you to create repeatable, consistent sharpness.

The lens is sealed and offers a very compact, compact design with dimensions of 66 x 57.5 mm and a weight of 181 g. The glass has a function button, a physical AF / MF switch and you can screw in filters with a diameter of 55 mm.

Sony E 15mm f / 1.4 G – great quality and great light for the filmmaker and photographer

The Sony E 15mm f / 1.4 G model, equivalent to a 22mm focal length, is a proposition for advanced photographers and filmmakers who want to use the lens for wider applications.

In the case of this lens, we get a system based on 13 lenses in 12 groups, including 3 aspherical lenses, 1 Super ED lens and one regular ED lens. In addition, a 7-blade opening and the possibility of sharpening from a distance of at least 17 cm.

In addition to the larger light, the 15 mm model also stands out in its structure. In addition to the function button, manual focus ring and AF/MF switch, we also get a physical aperture ring that can be switched to stepless mode, which will please advanced filmmakers. Most importantly, it’s still a compact and compact design, measuring 66.6 x 67.5mm and weighing 219g.

As with the 11mm f/1.8, autofocus is performed by a dual linear motor, and the focus ring provides a linear translation from rotation angle to lens movement.

Sony E PZ 10-20 mm f / 4 G – the smallest wide-angle film zoom on the market

The Sony E PZ 10-20 mm f / 4 G lens, on the other hand, becomes a general wide-angle film zoom, which guarantees us a nice equivalent for the 15-30 mm focal length. Despite the record small dimensions (69.8 x 55 mm, 178 g), the lens has a function button, an AF / MF switch, a manual focus ring (with linear gear ratio) and a PowerZoom switch (zooming can also be performed via the second ring)

The optical system is based on 11 lenses in 8 groups (including 4 aspherical lenses and 2 ED lenses) and a 7-blade diaphragm. In total, you can focus from a distance of at least 13-17 cm (depending on the focal length), and the AF function is also done by the dual linear motor.

The lens is also sealed and allows the installation of 65 mm filters.
