The Justynka holiday center in Mierzyn near Międzychód has gained a cult reputation. Jerzy Szmajdziński or later President of the Republic of Poland Aleksander Kwaśniewski came here late. Famous Polish actors were also there. Today, only traces and a few demolished summer houses remain. However, the locals still remember it with nostalgia. See the latest photos of the once popular resort.
The construction of the Justynka recreation center in Mierzyn probably started in 1964. It was founded as the center of the Provincial Committee of the Union of Rural Youth (ZW ZMW) in Poznań. The construction was completed in 1972, and two years later it was the Interprovincial Active School of the Union of Socialist Polish Youth (ZSMP).
From the early 1990s, the buildings fell into disrepair until they were finally demolished in 2017. Buildings have disappeared from the face of the earth. Only a few dilapidated row houses remain. We managed to save photos from 2013, 2014 and 2017. For the inhabitants of the Międzychód region, the Justynka OW area has a sentimental meaning. There is probably no one whose memory is not tied to this place. As soon as we published a gallery of memories from recent years on the Internet, an avalanche of comments began.
